Let's be honest, there is something magical about a candle light dinner. Even more so when it is facing a glowing landscape with soft love songs playing in the background. It sets an environment for you to cruise on your romantic feelings with your partner. An old-fashioned but effective way to sweep your partner of his or her feet.

Dorsett has the details taken care of for the couple. The table owes its glitz to the champaign-gold sequined table runner and glam to the mini mirror balls. The row of tea lights shared their warm elegance. An "I 💗 U" lit signage constantly reminds while the white roses complete the romantic look. The couple will be accompanied by helium balloons and more tea lights arranged in the shape of a heart around the table.

What Putrajaya has in abundance is SPACE. So much so that parking is available for free at most areas. Although shopping and eating is a popular mood therapy, nothing can heal your soul like space can. Our very own administrative capital, Putrajaya, has all the space you can get.

On the other side of the serious government facades, you will see that Putrajaya is a versatile place that can accommodate many other moods. While it has become a place for recreational activities and frequented by work-out enthusiasts, Putrajaya's manicured gardens, not to mention Instagrammable structures, makes it a worthwhile place for a photoshoots and romantic outings too.

The best way to fully experience the administrative capital of Malaysia is to stay in the heart of it. Then only, you are able to see Putrajaya's visage at every hour of the day instead of only during office hours. Which is why, I have chosen Putrajaya as my destination for staycation.

Dorsett Putrajaya

Dorsett Putrajaya is located at Precint 3. Situated just opposite the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, the hotel enjoys a vantage location right in front of the lake. Although all toiletries are provided in the hotel, the sight of the Hero mart adjacent to the lobby gave me much relief as I'll never know when I will need the comfort of some instant noodles.

Not long after check-in, I was searching for something to snack on and availed myself to some Minum Petang Pilihan Makcik Kiah which reminds me of how yummy Malaysian dishes like cucur udang, pisang goreng and roti jala are. After fueling myself, it was time to go out and about.

Immediately in front of the hotel is the food truck square. You can expect a convoy of food trucks available from brunch to supper. I passed that area while making a mental note to come back for supper later. If you are there, head to the bank of the lake to take some deep breathes. By strolling the area, I felt a load of pressure evaporate off my shoulders as the lake absorbed all the tension from the the daily rut. After I had allowing myself to loaf around to my heart's content, I went back to doll up for my romantic Table for Two dinner.

In Putrajaya, there are not only plenty of postcard perfect landscapes to use as photo backdrops but also extravagant structures that punctuate the place with plenty of architectural art.

As an effort to conserve the environment, water is not available in bottles but in water coolers located at every level. To support being environmental friendly, I enjoy filling the water jug when water is needed.

While dining, I caught the sight of liveliness opposite the lake and just had to check the place out. It turns out to be a happening area with eateries and activities aplenty. It was a lot of fun even looking at people taking rides. I spent the rest of the evening strolling the scenic area, appreciating the breeze from the lake.
