Nook Dinner Buffet...for a Bachelorette @ Aloft Hotel Sentral KL

Another one off the market! My dear friend whom I have known pretty much most of my life is getting married! Upon the confirmation with a red bomb, we automatically hollered for a bachelorette dinner of course! What are girl friends for right? As the group has mellowed into motherhood, we decided to have a classy and sensible session sans the clubbing and stripper or kids (I know how much we are missing alright)
Nook buffet dinner with splendid lights
Located strategically at KL Sentral, Aloft Hotel was a fair venue as the girls came from all over Klang Valley. One even made it fresh out from KLIA to the dinner that night. As for me, my favourite way to beat the traffic and avoid perpetual rounds of carpark search is by taking the train.
Michelle being crowned the queen of the evening
The theme for the evening was 'Bling Bling'. A fun opportunity for all the girls to dress up and shine. We got Michelle a little tiara complete with a veil tagging along and a sash that labels her the bride-to-be. Michelle has always been a girly girl and when she said she felt like a princess that night we felt pretty sure we were the best girl friends in town...haha! Balloons and other decorations were help set up by the friendly waiters which was a big favour for us in evening dresses and heels.

Be sure not to skip the appetizers as they are interestingly created with permutations of cold dishes that will certainly attract your eyes. Cold platter was also fresh and sweet.

Appetizers
The restaurant's local delights came complete with local condiments and flavouring like the cincalok and budu. There were a variety of curries to satisfy your spicy palate. They were not quite worthy of tummy space as they were nothing short of ordinary. I remember my jaws were working quite a bit on the beef too.

The Western side featured beef, fish fillet and chicken. My favourite of the platters is the fish fillet which makes a communal dish when chatting with friends.

The oriental corner was easy to spot with chinese steam baskets containing little bowls of goodness. Open the lids with anticipation of what is steaming underneath. Nutritious combinations unveil after the steam has dissipated. Pick your choice carefully as they are piping hot!

The sumptuous lamb shank got my attention for sure. The reddish meat beckoned but it was not as tender as it looked and a tad dry. It was condoned however, as the meat was flavourful without the odour.

Desserts made us make a point to save tummy space for sweets! Choices of desserts were aplenty from confectioneries to the local ice kacang. Clean your palates with not only sweet but colourful delights.

Delectable choices
Nook perfected the night with a custom made cake for us to congratulate Michelle with. With this, we wish her a sweet beginning with many more delicious life events to come. The evening was articulated with lots of chat and laughter. Of course, what is a bachelorette without the traditional truth or dare game (at minimum) that not only kept us entertained but also selected lucky guests over the other tables.
A cake for Michelle compliments of Aloft Sentral KL
Nook also serves breakfast and lunch. To me, it has good ambiance, location and variety of food to cater for events and family meals alike.
Congratulations Michelle!

Love you girl! Wishing you a happy and blessed marriage!

Outfit of the evening
Guess who I found at the fashion show
Hatta for Zalora
Kurungs with a contemporary twist. Hatta made it sweet with pastel colours. His designs this time around is inspired by the poppy flower which embodeis femininity and grace. This collection preserves Hatta's winning lines and techniques which carries his identity of a distinguished Malaysian fashion designer.

Xema Su
Xema Su's pieces are mainly inspired by the diverse and rich Malaysian culture with clean lines and comfortable cuttings. Her pieces are versatile and safe not only for Raya but also for any elegant events. Simple yet workable.

Tsyahmi
Tsyahmi's designs emerged rich with traditional Malay traits. Very classical, his collection this time displays a hint of grandeur from the past. Abaya-like pieces fuses modesty and modernity with class.

Woo/ Fiziwoo for Zalora
I must say Woo/ Fiziwoo matched my appetite with almost every piece. The designers made chic and fun emerge out of their designs that are based on the 1970's look. Nostalgic yet trendy. I spotted my raya piece here.

Collection will be live on Zalora from 9th June 2016

My favorite piece! Yellow to be specific

That's not all. Wait for more designer pieces coming live on Zalora.

Maybelline Launches New Tagline 'Make It Happen' @ Midvalley

I applaud Maybelline's new and brilliant tagline, 'Make It Happen'. At last! A tagline that is concise, sharp and spot on! These three words give empowerment to women to make it happen, whatever the 'IT' may be. What is your 'IT', ladies? To be awesome on stage, to be pretty for your boyfriend or to be confident in the office? The brand helps you to make 'IT' happen! That's what Maybelline is disseminating.

Maybelline now urges you to 'Make It Happen'
'Make It Happen' is a much positive and stronger tagline compared to its predecessor 'Maybe She's Born With It, Maybe It's Maybelline.' To be honest, I never thought the old one was engaging as it bore too much uncertainty for the brand. Yes, it is understood that Maybelline was trying to compare the beauty it brings to natural beauty but it was only 'maybe' Maybelline. Maybe it was the collagen suppliment? Or the vitamin pills? Well enough of my two cents worth. What really matters and remained is that it is my no.1 make up brand because of its quality, good colours and affordability.
Set up of the launch of Maybelline's new tagline at MidValley
Make It Happen permits ladies to define their own beauty with make up. Facial artistry can do wonders to a person's confidence, boosts up one's mood and fortify one's belief. And all those will fuel you to achieve your dreams. Maybelline provides the tools, and it is up to you to Make It Happen! *Just love their new tagline*

Maybelline showcased their 'IT' girls who consist of Asia's Net Top Model Tuti, artepreneur and jewelry designer Harmini Asokumar, actress Elisya Sandha, Youtube singer Johanis Sani, beauty and lifestyle vlogger Wong Jie Xhia and freelance model Noorzamrina Zamrin. Each one of them shared how make up helped them transform their lives and how it oiled their way to achieve their dreams.

Maybelline's wide range of products
Low self-esteem and self doubt are often the hurdles between Malaysian women and their dream. In Maybelline's research, it is found that what matters to Malaysian girls today are their family, positivity, career or success, lifestyle and yes physical appearance. Call it shallow but physical impression counts. So if you don't feel beautiful enough or just feeling down, whip out a lipstick or put that mascara to good use. It does not really matter what people think about it. What matters is that your confidence is stretched a little higher...and it goes a long way.
Transform yourself with Maybelline
One of the things I love about Maybelline is its colours that make me want them all!
A trusted brand
Which product is your favourite? Mine would be the Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner!

The Maybelline 'Make It Happen' is trademark registered worldwide. Alongside Asia's Next Top Model 4, Zalora is the official fashion partner for Make It Happen and Maybelline 'IT' Girls look book
