I don't have to leave Malaysia to see the world's wonder. In a place called Pulau Sembilan, I saw the unbelievable. As if fallen from another planet, these Blue Tears glow like magic dust, so surreal and enchanting.
Dreaming of going to the Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia? Before you book that big ticket flight half way across the world, take a 2.5-hour drive to this humble village in Bagan Datoh and see if you still need that trip.
My trip with my family was via 9 Island Agency Sdn. Bhd.
Charges were RM300 for adult
RM240 for children 7-11 years old
RM100 for children 3-6 years old
Children below 2 years old are free
We had no complaints, everything was well taken care off and we went home happy with lots of memories.

Seaside fun
Kampung Sungai Burung is situated by the sea and gave us the opportunity to soak in some sun, sea and sand. Challenge yourself to a clam hunting spree and get the restaurant to cook the clams that you have collected for dinner. Behold also the sunset while you are indulging in a steamboat dinner prepared for you. Walk out to the sea on the boardwalk while having your tresses caressed by the sea breeze.

Lots of seafood at great price
Being a fishing village, seafood here comes at its freshest! Opt for a seafood set lunch that has all the favourite seafood dishes covered. Larger than normal and cheaper than normal, these meals from the sea had us licking our fingers clean.
While you are there also, don't miss out on stocking up on some raw seafood and sea products. We had our hauls in boxes!

Rustic village life
Check out of being a citizen of the city and simplify your life for a moment in Kampung Sungai Burung. Oh please do not bring the laptop for once as it will contaminate the whole rustic experience. Free your toes with those flip flops all the way, breath fresh salty air and smile to strangers like you have known them for years. Free the spirit and enjoy the modesty of this place.

Blue Tears is out of this world!
Blue Tears is actually no transcendental phenomena. It is a bioluminescent phytoplankton that emits electricity blue glow when under a change in its environment like a slap in the water or waves. Having explained that, the spellbinding sight of these organisms had me teleported to another realm. I swear my eyes were as round as plates.

You have to see it to believe it |
Although very simply facilitated, with less than 5 eateries, a sundry shop a school and a jetty, the village functions like an entity. Villagers work together to provide a wholesome experience for visitors by the tour agency. By following the tour, we streamed through the whole village through meals and activities.

When leaving Bagan Datoh, we took a short detour (1 hour drive) to the leaning tower of Teluk Intan as a gentle finale to the precious family trip.
