When the moon is bright, the mood is right,
and all you need is a perfect dinner for the night,
I have a place for you alright!
Movida at Changkat Bukit Bintang made my Friday evening that week something that I would thank God for with their renovated venue and creative new menu (all dishes in this review is only available in Movida at Changkat Bukit Bintang at the moment). May it be for serious dining or for casual drinks, Movida purveys.

Looking forward to a great evening in Movida Changkat Bukit Bintang |
Located strategically at the palpitating junction that separates Jalan Alor and Changkat, Movida Restaurant and Bar is a landmark that you cannot miss. The vivacious atmosphere in this part of Kuala Lumpur can turn even the most morbid of dates into night to remember.

Movida kitchen and terrace |
The place have been renovated into a stylish eatery that homes a bar and club too. While the restaurant plays hit music to accompany your appetite, the amplifiers are upped from 11pm onwards for the ultimate nightlife.

Interestingly designed bar illuminates the mood |
The al-fresco section of restaurant is alluring. There is a huge projector screen to satisfy your football frenzy and in case you have a craving for games, there are darting stations in place for some competitive fun. Movida's immaculate hospitality is also to be credited. The friendly staff are always servicing with a smile even if when it comes to photography!

Mussels and Clam Pot served with garlic toast RM35.80
Our flavour of the day was white wine. Flavour varies from day to day. Ask for the flavour of the day! |
We knew we were on the right track when we started with the Mussels and Clam Pot. The flavour of that Friday was white wine. The crustaceans were cooked just right preserving the texture and sweetness of the clams and mussels. The broth was infused with white wine with a touch of cream which kept me slurping the savoury goodness till the last drop. What makes it interesting is that the flavours vary from day to day.

Flaming Bean Can Chicken RM26.80
BBQ Whole Spring Chicken with baked beans, mushroom and coleslaw |
Our dinner was literally the bomb when the Flaming Bean Can Chicken arrived. A whole spring chicken is barbecued with baked beans and mushrooms, locking in the essence of chicken into the beans and mushrooms. Its creative entrance stole the attention of neighbouring diners. Vodka is used to set the chicken into a violet flame which settles to give a distinct fragrance and a light crisp.

Charbroiled Steak RM95.80
Australian Grass-fed Ribeye or Tenderloin with garlic confit, truffle mushroom ragout and roasted heirloom cherry tomatoes |
|
My ribeye steak cooked medium |
The charbroiled steak remedied my life after the week-long grind. How can anything match up to a thick block of Australian Grass-fed Ribeye seared with the perfect seasoning that seeps into the pinkish medium-cooked meat inside. The garlic confit is is slow cooked with olive oil and brings an aromatic sweetness when eaten with the meat. The mushroom sauce holds a woody flavour in the right thickness and fantastically flavourful. The truffle mushroom ragout simply tantalized the taste buds with a blend of cream and spices that highlighted the divinity of the truffles.

Good food, beautiful place, great company. What else can I ask for |

Jackfruit Spring Rolls with vanilla ice cream RM15.80 |
It is always good to wrap up the flamboyant meal with something closer to home, the Jackfruit Spring Rolls. The hot and piping dessert is served in a
sampan (boat) and accompanied by good old vanilla ice-cream which teases the palates with an occasional chill. The crisp of the skin could be more fun if it was thinner. The jackfruit filling however is in generous portions and packs sufficient fragrance of the fruit with every bite.

My friend and I eased into the weekend with house pour red wine while soaking up the vibes of the vibrant Kuala Lumpur.
