Fatboi Tavern at Solaris

It was 3 hours after we stepped foot into Fatboi Tavern and the attendance of our group of friends was still full. Nobody left even after the soiled plates were collected. Our drinks remained though. How could we leave when the atmosphere is so comfortable with affordable food and drinks?

Fatboi Tavern isn't the kind of bar where you have to be prepared to empty your wallet after being there. Fatboi's intention to give guests a good time is sincere. With a wide selection of drinks and a menu of palatable dishes, this bar easily turns into one's favourite even at the first visit. It is no surprise that guests become friends at Fatboi's.

If you see this pleasant chap around, say hi to Devesh, the owner of Fatboi

Keeping it simple, FatBoi Tavern's list of food is not extensive but covers a satisfying range of Asian and Western dishes that regularly delights the masses. From Indomee with pulled pork and home-made sambal belado to pasta, burgers, pizzas there is something for every type of appetite. They come in portions that are value for money. Be sure too to find interesting finger foods that pair well with drinks.

Hanging Out at Afterwerk @Scott Garden

In search of places that can accommodate good food and good vibes with a wide selection of spirits, Afterwerk appeared as a good choice in my list- the new revamped restaurant, that is. After the new management took over, Afterwerk emerges strong in the FnB competition in Scott Garden, Old Klang Road. Their new menu, redone stage and changed live bands are ready to host groovy parties and friendly gatherings for their patrons.
Wine and dine with friends at Afterwerk
Happy Hour at Afterwerk runs from 4pm to 10pm with attractive promotions on their alcoholic beverages. Check them out at www.facebook.com/AfterWerk. At Afterwerk, ladies do not have to remember which day is Ladies' Night as 7pm-10pm, every day, ladies can take pleasure in free drinks!
Check out their Happy Hour promo 4pm-10pm on a selection of spirits
Free cocktails for ladies everyday from 7pm-10pm
Afterwerk also takes care of the entertainment department as well as their food and beverages. Everyday, the bar features not only 1 but 2 bands in their circuit to tune in to every guest's rhythm. My girl friend and I were clinking wine glasses while we reminisce our memories together and empower each other to grasp our future dreams.
2 bands are featured daily (1 during happy hour and the other during extended hours)

Warming up at the al fresco area
Guests basking in party atmosphere
As drinks flowed into glasses and chatter emanated from our mouths, Afterwerk served their main courses which I have to say, were in generous portions!
Piggy Ribs RM45 (half slab) RM90 (full slab)
The Piggy Ribs is a rack of charbroiled pork ribs slathered homemade BBQ sauce. Although the meat needs just a tad more effort to fall of the bones, the marination deserves a thumbs up with glistening BBQ sauce, thick enough for a lip-smacking credit. A wonderful pair with beer!
When eating ribs, fingers are the best
Pan Seared Salmon RM38
Those who are not fans of meat can turn to their Pan Seared Salmon with spicy creamy caper sauce served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Salmon doneness renders satisfaction as the fish is flaky and juicy. The cream sauce is a pleasant match while the well-seasoned mashed potato surprisingly kept me indulged although just a side dish.

Chicken Chop RM22
Guests can opt for their pan fried Chicken Chop as a reliable meal which is served with salad, fries and choice of black pepper or mushroom sauce. A large piece of de-boned chicken leg will not disappoint.
Afterwerk Pork Chop RM32
The grilled Pork Chop is a delightful dish drenched with spicy sauce and delicious mash potato and vegetables at the side.

Fun time with good friends
The night was not over after the main courses. Of course, wine continued to pour and music did not stop throughout the evening. Guests can take advantage of the pool tables and dart boards to amplify their excitement. My friend, Gina, and I made more acquaintances from other tables and shamelessly created more laughter. All the cooped up stress dissolved that evening and we left with memorable snapshots. And, that is all we expect from a wonderful evening out, don't you think?
A round of pool anyone?
