Chinese Muslim Mee Tarik (pulled noodles, 拉面) at Pasar Seni

I finally got to try the Chinese Muslim Mee Tarik (pulled noodles, 拉面) at Pasar Seni with my friends. I have to say I understand why the long queue now.

Chinese Muslim Mee Tarik (pulled noodles/ 拉面) at Pasar Seni

The texture and biteability of the noodle is on point - soft yet al dente. I almost always shy away from noodles that taste like a mouthful of flour. This one is different and gets a thumbs up. The thin and knife-shaven noodles have different feel to its texture and taste.

Spicy beef noodle

Dao xiao (knife-shaven) beef noodle

The dumpling skin also has the right thickness with the amount of fillings which we can choose from lamb, beef, chicken and eggs & chives. You know the skin of frozen dumplings? It's nothing floury like that. I'll return for the cold noodles and tomato noodles.

Dumpling skin is finely made at the right amount of thickness, giving good biteability

Fried dumplings

Scallion pancake

The owner originates from Lan Zhou, China. Price of a regular bowl if noodle is around RM15. A plate of 6 dumplings is RM16 and scallion pancake is RM14.

Staycation at Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown

When your hotel room has a tattoo, you know that your stay is going to be snazzy. The hotel embeds cultural motives in its interiors as a tribute to the heritage centre.

If you never had a chance to reach Pasar Seni early enough to beat the queue at Ho Kow Kopitiam, you can walk right up to it's entrance in less than a minute from Four Points Chinatown.

Located just a stone's throw away from Petaling Street, the quaint Chinatown is served right on your lap for you to explore.

The Pasar Seni MRT train comes to good use when the area pales away after dusk. The vibrant Bukit Bintang is just 2 stations away. Parking is RM10 flat rate for guests.

Mua Chi @ Petaling Street

I was craving for a nutty snack and 'mua chi' came to mind. What else can be nuttier than glutinous rice balls burried in ground peanuts!

Mdm Tang the Mua Chi Queen
So my craving took me to Petaling Street, searching for the Mua Chi Queen. The perennial stall, hollering 'yat lau' (best) from a recorder, has defined Petaling Street's very existance. However, Mdm Tang is not letting familiarity breed contempt.

Interesting flavours- Ribena, lychee, mango
Take a closer look at you will find a delightful range of mua chi flavours. Ribena, lychee and mango are the contemporary flavours introduced by Mdm Tang. The flavours permeate through every bite of the sticky cake. The chewy cake itself is not too starchy and has the right biteability. For only RM5 per packet, exhume bits of this tasty snack while you walk amidst the vibrance of Petaling Street.

What do you do with the leftover peanuts. Pour them into your mouth of course!
