Stick Arts Cafe @ NU Sentral

There is a new cafe in the city launched recently, just in time to sweeten up Christmas. Stick Arts Cafe is no ordinary dessert store. Its gelatos are one of a kind in Sout East Asia and I am pretty sure it can make just the most grumpy person smile. Made your wife angry? A teddy bear gelato will be your saviour in no time! Scroll down to see what I mean!
Sweet Christmas
Stick Arts Cafe at Level 5 NU Sentral
I must agree with their tagline that 'Gelato Never Looked This Good'. In fact sometimes too good to be eaten. There are more than 50 handcrafted characters on a stick. Each 3D gelato takes 2 days to be made and just minutes to be consumed! There are teddy bears, flowers, minions, Doraemons, Angry Birds, SpongeBobs and more!
Gelato never looked this good- a whole 3D dog gelato!
Interesting hand-made 3D gelato RM12.90
Pretty and yummy 2D design gelatos RM7.90
2D take away RM38.00 for 5 pieces
From left: Strawberry sherbet, oreos (best seller) and green apple yogurt
Chilling with sister Evy
I like the Oreo gelato the best. Its chocolate crust is thick and has enough oreo crumbles to tickle the palate. My sister's pick would be the yogurt gelato which is refreshing with yogurt and fresh fruits waiting to surprise with every bite! Another attraction that will make any girl's heart melt faster than the gelato is the world's first 3D gelato flower in a bouquet. Now that's a literally cool and yummy way to get to your girlfriend's heart.

6 roses RM188/ 12 roses RM288/ 24 roses RM488
Intricate bear bear gelato
Munch on a minion today?
Owl 3D that looks like clay work
There is even PSY in the chiller
Never seen an ice-cream this adorable
I just can't bear to destroy this bear but I had to...starting with the ears
Kimora Jean is the lady behind the crafts of the business. Not only her 3D gelatos are unique, other desserts at Stick Arts are just as special. The cakes and chocolates here have a character of their own.
Kimora Jean, the sweet dessert maker
My absolute favourite is the Hot Chocolate on a Spoon. To be really honest, I crave for it everyday after my first try! It just lifts the mood on a rainy day or perhaps after a lashing from the boss. A lump of dark chocolate at the end of a wooden spoon will dissolve in hot milk or hot water while you stir, releasing little bites of marshmellows and of course the oh-so-delicious dark chocolate. It is the ultimate balm to the soul. Thanks for creating this Kimora!
Hot Chocolate On A Spoon RM15.50 each
RM28.50 per set of milk, white and dark chocolate
Dark chocolate and marshmallows yummy!
Cake in a jar RM9.80
Stick Arts' Cake In A Jar is a contemporary way of eating cakes especially for people on the go. Have it in the car or while waiting for a bus. It certainly blots out the mess of sliced cakes.
Christmas special- New York Cheesecake
Cakes in Stick Arts are gluten free, made of natural ingredients and colours, suitable for vegans and are fat free which makes tea time guilt free! The shop's Christmas Special, the New York Cheesecake is only available from now till 25th December 2016. The tangy and light cheesecake gives a Fruit Loop feel without being too cloying.

Nutella Has A New Name...Yours!

Some things in the kitchen finish extra fast. I must admit the frustration when my newly replenished jar of Nutella disappears like nobody's business! And it happens...all...the...time. Now Nutella has a new name and it is EWEN! A jar that is all mine to eat because it bears my name!
My very own jar of Nutella
Nutella has a new name. Yours. #yournutella
Your Nutella campaign has reached Malaysia! For those who are familiar with the international scene, you would have seen your friends in Europe having their jar of Nutella personalized. The campaign then migrated to the Middle East before landing in Singapore just recently. Happening from 9th-13th March 2016 at the Concourse of One Utama's old wing, you can print your name on the label of a Nutella jar.
Belinda Chee hosting the launch of Your Nutella
For just RM15.90, your name will be where the brand should be in Nutella style on a 350g jar of yummy hazelnut chocolate spread. Tips: The shorter the name, the better it looks on the jar- chic and trendy. Look at the samples below.
Leonardo, Marketing Director of nutella SEA launching the campaign with the first personalized jar in Malaysia
When I had my name printed on it, there was no way to describe the personal connection with that special jar of sweetness. I cannot bring myself to put a 'Do Not Touch' sticker on normal jars as it is seen as selfish. After all, I do want to share good stuff with my family and friends. So a name on it does the work...well at least until that unique jar finishes.
Make sure when  you key in the names, check the spelling before hitting enter
How do you like your Nutella? On waffles, pancakes and bread? Or with fresh fruits like how I like it? Or better still...a dollop of pure Nutella on its own just like that! The launch featured food that was complimented by the addictive chocolate spread.
Waffles with nutella
Have it with fruits
Add a layer of nutella on your pudding and desserts
Nutella has a unique taste and so delectable that can make any bad day wonderful. To me, it is the hazelnut that makes all the difference- melted praline that matches with anything in the dessert department. Not only is its chocolate delicious, Nutella contains no artificial colours or preservatives.
Mama nutella and baby ewen nutella.
Wish my nutella could reproduce on its own in my fridge!
I must praise the person who germinated this idea as it brings happiness to anyone who receives that special jar. Anyone! It is a perfect gift to family and friends. The gift itself is literally sweet. It is now even more valuable when purchase is only limited to one person per jar! I had to queue several times to get all my intended gifts done. Was it worth the trouble you ask? To me, yes.
Made it for my family and friends
From mid-april to end of May, participating supermarkets and hypermarkets will carry the name label standees, with selected stores running promotional events for fans to get their own name labels. The list of stores can be found here

For fans who are unable to find their names in the standees, the YourNutella.com website which will be launched on 14th March 2016 will allow anyone to customize their own labels and have them sent to their email address.

Italgelato @ Resorts World Genting

No matter how much I say I am on a diet, I cannot say no to ice-cream. The magic of the cone makes you happy like a kid again. I knew I was going to have a delightful trip when I saw the gelato parlour at the lobby of First World Hotel in Genting. I promised myself (or rather, make my boyfriend promise) that we must share a gelato moment that weekend.
Genting's own brand of gelato Italgelato

Resorts World Genting is the only resort producing an in-house ice-cream brand. Only found in the highlands, Italgelato blends lots of character in their dessert that not many know of. It started when Genting was searching for concepts for their new themepark. Ice-cream is a must and a small stall was set up for fun. Now, there are 4 parlours and growing.
I knew I was going to have a wonderful time
The base ingredients are of premium quality and imported directly from Italy. Italgelato's products are artisan produced, wholly homemade and artfully garnished by their own chefs. There is no added colour, preservatives and additives. Everyday, Italgelato churns out fresh gelato that brings pleasure to gelato lovers.
Chef demonstrating how gelato is made with the specially imported Italian machine
What is gelato? I used to think of it as a more atas ice-cream! Well, to be more correct, it is a healthier ice-cream. The Italian method of making ice-cream has its specialty.

Fat - Gelato has not more than 26% fat while ice-cream has up to 50% fat.
So gelato has 1/2 the fat ice-cream has! What diet again? Go all out with the dessert without the expense of the waistline.
Air -  Gelato is denser with 25-30% air while ice-cream is fluffier with more than 50% air
No wonder I feel that ice-cream feels like foam when I scoop it out of the tub. So I am licking only 1/2 the amount of goody that I am supposed to!
Serving temperature - Gelato is served at -5oC to -10oC while ice-cream is served at -18oC.
Do you feel the pang when biting into a scoop of ice-cream? Gelato is more soothing to the mouth. Thus, allowing more body to be felt in every scoop.

Orange Cheesecake flavour being one of their signature flavours
Italgelato gives a whole new meaning to freshness

Italgelato offers gelato in various forms. Choose the stick gelato if you like your ice-cream the casual way. The delicious coatings on top not only delays the melting, it also adds interesting crisp to every bite.
Stick Gelato RM9.50
Dipping my own gelato stick with coloured coatings
Tadaa! E-Wen designed strawberry, hazelnut, chocolate and nuts gelato on a stick!
Golf ball sized gelato with nuts or coloured rice aptly named Minou at RM7.50 each

Consume your gelato in cup form if you like it convenient and fuss-free. Contain more gelato in different flavours too and shovel them into your mouth with a mini-spoon.
It is not just mango. It's Alfonso Mango (King of Mango) from Pakistan
The purity of flavours at Italgelato is one thing that I have to praise. Every flavour is very distinct. The Alfonso Mango Sorbet for example, is so aromatic with mango that it was close to eating the mango itself. Chocolate was very rich and I could feel the generosity in ingredients. Coffee was very coffee and strawberry was very strawberry.
Cup of 100g (1 flavour) RM9.50
200g (2 flavours) RM19.00
300g (3 flavours) RM28.50
400g (4 flavours) RM38.00

Sometimes you get dizzy from having so many flavours to choose from. All are equally attractive and pretty! Their signature flavours are the Arancia Cheese Cake (orange cheesecake flavour) and Alfonso Mango Sorbet. The cheese is very pronounced and yet not too overpowering while the orange gives it a refreshing twist. This is not a regular flavour you can find at ice-cream parlours.
Just look at the delightful colours and flavours

If you like your ice-cream in the traditional cone, there are many sizes for you to choose from. Try the mini ones if you are fickle about the flavours or cannot commit a whole big scoop to one flavour.
If you cannot decide, go for all!
I recommend this as the fun of popping different flavours in your mouth is delirious!

The Biscotto alla Cioccolato (Peanut and Chocolate) is to die for! Red Velvet is their newest flavour and will certainly not let you down. Try the Straciatella (Cream and Chocolate) for a classic and dreamy indulgence.
A tray of 8 mini cones RM20.00(non-members) RM18.00 (members)
12 mini cones RM26.00 (non-members) RM24.00 (members)
Cones are an important part of the ice-cream anatomy
There is the mini, regular and large sized cone to choose from (they call their large cone 'medium')
If mini is not your game, try the large ones. The cones which they call 'medium' are not your ordinary waffles. They come in different tastes and colours which multiplies the fun! There are the rose, macha (green tea), charcoal and chocolate flavours.

Medium cone in rose, macha, charcoal and chocolate
2 flavours at RM20.00 (non-members) RM18.00 (members)
It is not necessary to get warm food all the time when you are in a cold place. The next time you go to Genting, help yourself to some chilling bliss!

Italgelato opens from 10am to 10pm near the Lobby Cafe.
