Expect VIP guests and designers like Jimmy Choo to grace the fashion week
For the first timme in Malaysia, Starhill Gallery Fashion Week 2017 included a special fashion show featuring the latest Spring/ Summer and couture collections of Australian luxe-label ae'lkemi designed by award-winning fashion designer Alvin Fernandez. The ae'lkemi focus is on organic textile processes that represent femininity. The foundation of the ae'lkemi brand is luxury fabrics and contrasting textures, meticulously put together using precious seed pearls, Swarovski crystals and French lace appliques with a strong focus on the female form.

Collection from Kenzo
Kenzo celebrated the cultural euphoria portrayed in menswear and womenswear with garments characterizing expressions of freedom. Technical taffetas with metal snaps or drawstrings featured a more industrial feel to the design.
Collection from MMissoni
M Missoni showcased the Spring/ Summer 2017 collection this season by taking the upbeat and feminine woman as an inspiration for the lie. With the theme 'Glitter Glam' the free and youthful spirit of this line was enhanced with vivid colours and bold lines inspired by graphism to modern art to the hippie-folk movement.
Collection from Alexander McQueen
McQ Alexander McQueen delivered a 90s interpretation of the 70s in its Spring/ Summer collection. Pop culture's infamous icons, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lydia Lunch were muses for this range. McQ translated the era and these enigmatic muses into garments of easy silhouettes, contrasting fabrics and jarring, provocating colours.
Collection from Valentino
Italian fashion mammoth, Valentino, is also welcomed on runway. This time, Valentino was inspired by the renaissance painting and also evoked historic Venetian textiles and quirky prints on ethereal soft dresses, shirts and smart trenches for daywear. Accents of appliques and movement of fabrics brought out a sense of sophistication and grace to the collection.
Collection from iKarrtini
iKarrtini encapsulated true Malaysian culture in a marriage between the traditional and contemporary. This collection highlights batik as an art of creating patterns.
An elegant piece from Mita Tam
With the theme 'Break Free', light patterns as well as colourful floral dresses for both casual and formal occasions were a prominence in Mita Tam Style Studio.

Syomiriza Gupta's Spring/ Summer 2017 collection draws its inspiration from the briliant avant-garde artist Yoko Ono. Through his collection , the designer invites you to join him on a journey that traverses 3 chapters from Yoko Ono's early years- an ambitious artist ahead of her time, her extraordinary relationship with John Lennon, and a female activist with a will of forged iron.
