Chinese New Year Menu 2020 @ Rooftop25, Garden Inn Hilton Kuala Lumpur

If you are thinking of ushering the Lunar New Year from an auspicious place that signifies wishes of achieving great heights in life, check out Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. As first timers to the hotel in the heart of bustling Chow Kit, the experience of a spectacular view of Kuala Lumpur's skyline was unexpected. Garden Grille and Rooftop25 Bar and Lounge commands a panoramic sight of the beautiful city with breathtaking illumination from its skycrappers. The glowing pool beside it also radiates elegance to complement the evening while we feasted. This Instagramable rooftop restaurant and bar is the kind that will score you points for romantic occassions too.

Unlike most buffets that usually overwhelms, the buffet line at this restaurant is simple but sufficient, resulting in a relaxing meal. Elaborate buffets rarely give me the chance to have a second helping of the same dish due to their large variety. Besides, the atmosphere and the thrilling glass floor was well worth it.

While letting the cool breeze caress our hair from 25 floors above, we enjoyed the tender stir fried beef with ginger and the appetizing Thai chicken. The bbq and grill section had our appetite satisfied with well seasoned and timely fired satay, steak, squid, mussel and chicken wing. The mouthwatering grilled dishes made me frequent the grille corner and leaving me envious of the chef's mesmerizing view of the city after every trip to replenish my plate.

Throughout the evening, the bar is available for drinks to be appreciated with the scenery.

Chinese New Year Menu 2020 @Chynna, Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Chinese New Year is a time for family reunions and gathering. The Reunion Dinner is the most important meal and the tradition signifies family values of love, respect and bond. Food plays an important role due to their symbolic meanings of luck and auspiciousness. Most of the dishes served during Chinese New Year are symbolic of something positive and hopeful. Smoky Chicken with Rice Krispies Yee Sang
Toss to good fortune with Chynna’s signature Yee sang for 2020, the Smoky Chicken with Rice Krispies Yee Sang. Inspired from the song "Lao shu ai da mi" (Rat loves big rice), Chef Lam makes it a barn affair with smokey chicken instead of raw fish. To compensate the soft fish meat texture that we are used to in Yee Sang, chicken meat was made starkly tender and succulent. Every bite is accompanied by a festive crisp with not only the crackers but also rice crispies to welcome a promising new year.

One must also try the Strawberry and Macadamia Nuts Yee Sang, Crispy Fish Skin and Salted Egg Yolk Soft Shell Crab Yee Sang, Norwegian Salmon Yee Sang with Passion fruit Sauce and Traditional Norwegian Salmon Yee Sang.

Braised Tomato Puree Soup with Seafood, Vegetarian Fins and Crushed Almonds
This tummy warmer is no ordinary tomato soup. Take a spoonful and be amazed how the humble tomato can score. Seafood gave it a savoury dimension while the almonds gave a unique appeal.

Eight Treasure Salt Baked Chicken Chef Lam Style
There is no skimping on ingredients when it comes to the Eight Treasure Salt Baked Chicken. Loveably salty, the chicken is toothsome with a clever balance of Chinese herbs and spices. 

Steamed Moontail Grouper with Green Lime and Garlic Chili Sauce
Those who appreciates fish will understand the irresistible outcome of garlic and ginger on fish. The steamed moontail grouper captured our hearts with exactly those ingredients. On top of that, the tactful use of lime made the taste clear and appetizing.

Sliced Abalone with Sea Cucumbers, Dried Oysters, Sea Moss and Chinese Cabbage in Claypot
This dish owes its taste to nothing else other than its own umami goodness. Abalone with sea cucumbers, dried oysters and sea moss are simply braised together with perfect timing for that a textural pleasure of Chinese dried seafood. 

Stir Fried Prawns with Kam Heong Pepper Sauce
Crunchy prawn meat absorbs the best of two cooking styles when stir fried with Kam Heong and Pepper. The bold taste of pepper tantalizes the tastebuds for a lip smacking moment. 
Fragrant Fried Rice With Preserved Duck Meat Wrapped in Lotus Leaf
Down to earth, the fried rice gives substantial comfort. The lotus leaf lends a woody aroma while dried shrimps give spikes of enjoyable flavour. Savour it slowly and take pleasure in the taste of the duck meat emerging as you chew. 

Double Boiled Almond Cream with Gum Tragacanth and Premium Musang King Dessert
Chef Lam brilliantly draws the curtain to the meal with the high of delectable desserts leaving guests hankering for more. Sink your teeth into a lump of Musang King durian wrapped in snow skin for that divine moment. Then, sooth the trachea with silkly double boiled almond cream with tendrils of beneficial peach gum which texture is not much different than that of bird's nest's.

At Tonka Bean Café and Deli, a sumptuous buffet dinner spread with popular dishes from around the world awaits diners on Christmas Eve. Guests will enjoy tucking into much-loved favourites including Whole Roasted Turkey with Apple and Chestnut Stuffing; Roasted Beef with Yorkshire Pudding; Veal Bratwurst on Sauerkraut; Gratinated Anglaise Oysters on Sea Salt and Roasted Pumpkin Soup with Toasted Smoked Duck.

Diners with sweet tooth will be pleased with the pretty dessert counter featuring a Christmas Yule Log cake, Christmas Stollen, Pistachio Cherry Cheese Cake, Morello Cherry Tarts, Christmas Cookies and unlimited servings of Baskin Robbins ice-cream with 18 flavours to choose from.

To add to the festive mood, a live band will feast the ears and kids will be delighted with the appearance of Santa Claus and Christmas carollers at the event.

The celebration will continue on Christmas Day with a Christmas High Tea from half past noon
until late afternoon. Delicacies served will cater to a variety of taste buds. As high tea would not be complete without scones, a desserts and pastries corner will
